The desserts in original tea culture

What will people have when they are enjoying afternoon tea with friends?

By my funny research, it is found that, in resent decade, people are not really willing to drink tea, having
the cakes and tarts and sandwiches and sitting in a tea room when they are having afternoon tea. Why this
special phenomenon happened in recent decade?

let's look at what we have in traditional afternoon tea table:

The afternoon tea is no more traditional!
In recent decade, people are started to have their ‘afternoon tea’ in the places other than tea room/saloon as they just thought that afternoon tea is a time for them to gather and that could be anywhere and not
absolutely the traditional ‘afternoon tea’.

They started to choose another places like coffee shop and other shops serve with desserts.

In the ‘contemporary’ afternoon tea, the traditional food on the ‘tea’ table is being changed and they
becomes some new and attractive dessert.

From the pictures, we are able to see that, in today’s afternoon tea table, hot chocolate and desserts like macaroon is becoming more popular than the traditional one as macaroon is a new and tasty desserts for everyone. In addition, teens or adolescent love something sweet more than to have something bored and not tasty!

However, there are still some tea room nowadays and got so many customers that proved traditional afternoon tea is still valuable.

How about you? Would you like to have an afternoon tea in tea
room which serves traditional afternoon or the ‘contemporary’ one?:)
